Paint Night- Northern Lights
My second successful paint night class, or I should say practice class. One student was my husband (who actually followed my instructions!), and the other was my good friend, Cait. Cait was at my first paint night as well. This time she said she was surprised at how well hers turned out. At first she did not have faith that it would look good, but she trusted my instructions and sure enough, she ended up with a beautiful painting! Hers is the one on the farthest left and Matt's is the next one.
Island Wave
Around Christmas time I was given a gift that was incredibly thoughtful, and I was greatly encouraged by it...the gift was a bundle of canvases (with a rhyming note)!
I returned one of those canvases...with this painting on it (along with a rhyming note).
Sometimes little things can make a big difference in someone's life! Thank you, Dr. Lani, for making a difference in my life and inspiring me to keep painting!

Sea of Turquoise Acrylic Pour
Another happy customer! Thank you, Bonnie, for commissioning this piece. It stretched me out of my comfort zone into a new medium, and as a result I learned some new skills. It looked beautiful on your wall too!

Women Grinding Maize

| "Women grinding maize,"- Acrylic on stone |
The rock he gave me to paint on resembles the size and shape of the stones the women would have used back then to grind corn to make masa.
I chose to use the scenic Malheur River area as my setting. This was my first attempt at such a small painting, and the uneven surface of the rock really put me to the test! Thank you, Tim, for this apportunity to challenge my mini-painting skills. I hope you enjoy it!

California Coast Sunset (Dana Point)
Merry Christmas to my friend Cait! You are a great friend who has helped me in so many ways, including giving me rides to medical appointments, pet sitting, and making sure I don't stay a hermit for too long of a period at a time! Thank you so much for being there for me, and I hope you enjoy this pop of color on your wall. 😊

Momma Codee Mae, forever in the sun!
Now that I have given it to it's new owner; I would like to share this painting I finished for my dear friend, Melody, in loving memory of her precious horse, Momma Codee Mae. She was Melody's dream horse come true, and it was my great honor to present this piece to her as a tribute to the wonderful life the two of them got to share together!

Mountain Quail
Here's a pair of mountain quail I've been working on lately. It was inspired by an art contest I saw online. I didn't learn of the contest in time to meet the submission deadline, but I decided to finish the drawing anyway. Next year I'll be ready though! Lots of small details going into this piece. It will be available for purchase, so if anyone is interested send me a message and let me know!

Blue Fairy Wren
I finished this cute little guy today. My osprey is still in the works, but I like to try to get a few quicker drawings out of these smaller birds since the larger ones take so long. Fairy wrens come in a few different, iridescent color combinations; some even appearing to glow. They are really quite spectacular little puff balls!

New drawing taking flight!
I am already enjoying seeing this piece come to life as I go; off to a good start on my newest bird drawing! This will be the largest piece I've done so far in the series (more than twice the size of my "Regal Pelican" piece).
