Grand Opening! My New Online Store Went Live Today.

 jelartcreations.store

I am excited to announce that my new online store went live today! This has been a long process, and a lot of work, but thanks to Shopify, I can now offer original works of art and fine art prints online for purchase. Please feel free to visit my new store by clicking the link above, or continue reading for more 2026 updates.

A special thank you belongs to all of my followers and supporters, as this would not have been possible without you! I have been greatly encouraged over the last year with new followers on my Instagram page, customers visiting my various market booths, and of course friends and family. Other artists have also been kind enough to share their knowledge, experiences, and words of encouragement, which is an honor to me. Thank you!

2026 Art on the Coast

Many of you know that the Art on the Coast market show, in Brookings, OR, is one of my favorite shows of the year. This show benefits CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). As someone myself who went through very difficult things as a child, I am proud to support and advocate for kids whenever the opportunity arises!

This year, as always, the organizers, customers, and other vendors were all amazing! The weather, on the other hand, was a bit less cooperative, which presented many unforeseen challenges. With wind gusts as strong as 30 to 40 knots, unfortunately my art booth sustained some damage, and many of us had to pack up early for safety reasons. To the few customers who patroned my booth during the chaos of things crashing, and me trying to physically hold my tent down: I am so sorry, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and offers to help!

Though there was some sadness in losing a few valued art pieces and a damaged-beyond-repair market tent, what I want to share from it is not despair. Instead, my heart is filled with gratitude to my family, and a solid hope in a God who sees us through the wildest storms life can throw our way!

In hindsight, this event was hardly the worst of trials, as there were good things that happened too. Connections were made, and my family was there to support me when I need them most.

The conversation I had with my mom afterwards has still been on my mind. When many trials (big or small) seem to keep coming with no relief in sight, it can be hard to shake the feeling that, "God isn't blessing me!"

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." -Psalm 34:18

There was a time in my life when I had virtually no real coping skills, so a minor setback like this absolutely would have sent me down an emotional spiral. My lifeline this time around was my faith; setting my focus on Jesus to lead me through the circumstance, rather than hyper-focusing on the circumstance itself (plus being blessed with a super wise and supportive momma!). When tensions were high, the compassion of Christ challenged me to be mindful of how I responded and inspired me to choose grace. I can't say I did this perfectly, but knowing how far Christ has grown my character, it could have been worse, and I walked away from it as a learning experience instead of a total disaster.

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." -Isaiah 40:31

We still enjoyed a lovely family beach vacation out of it, and the scenery did not disappoint for the Southern Oregon Coast! I came home with such a wealth of reference photos for new paintings that I couldn't possibly hope to have enough time to paint them all (an artist can try though!). A special thank you to my wonderful husband, for entertaining the kids during my show, and dropping everything (more than once) to come rescue me from the winds (love you honey)!

New Artwork Debuts!

Last but not least, a few new original art pieces made their debuts at the Brookings show. My Grey Whale piece was finished live at my booth! Follow my Instagram page for all the latest art pieces and art-progressions, and once again, now you can check out my online store for pieces available for purchase.

"Best Friends Enjoying the View," Smith Rock State Park

This piece took me a quite a bit longer, because it includes my sweet friend Kelly, her best friend, Kai, and a truly majestic and iconic place in Oregon.

Smith Rock State Park holds a very special place in the hearts of Oregonians, and for my friend Kelly, it is also where she met her husband! So in order to do this place justice and capture the serene moment of awe in taking it all in, I took my time with this one (not to mention finding time to paint with small children in the house)!

This was also painted with a purpose! I am happy to announce that, "Best Friends Enjoying the View," is now available at auction for a great cause... helping to raise money for pets in critical need of veterinary care in Central Oregon. Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon is hosting a launch event and silent auction for their Pets Forward charity fund, and as someone who has seen first-hand how this program has saved the lives of dogs and cats, and the deep impact that has had on their families, JEL Art Creations is proud to donate this painting, and contribute to this amazing fund!

The auction is now live through 11/7/25, and there are several great items available. Take a look, and please consider placing a bid and supporting the cause. Here is the link: Pets Forward Charity Auction Items

Art on the Coast, Port of Brookings Harbor was Amazing!

I am filled with gratitude for the great experience we had at the Art on the Coast, Port of Brookings show on August 2nd and 3rd. Everyone in Brookings treated us warmly and it was so much fun enjoying this event with my fellow vendors!

Saturday was busy and lively with lots of foot traffic, and my new greeting cards were a big hit. Sunday was a little more laid back, but the conversations were longer as people lingered and connected with me a little more. I also thoroughly enjoyed the perfect weather with some live painting, and the painting I finished on-site sold on-site (the paint was still wet)!

My family had fun visiting the activity booths and exploring around town (and of course the beach!), and the support and positive feedback I received at my art booth was encouraging. I'm so happy to have made some new connections with people, knowing my artwork will be enjoyed in their homes and shared with their families. To top it off, I was overjoyed to get to see so many Brown Pelicans right there in the harbor, flying right passed my booth (stay tuned for a new pelican piece or two!) I can't wait to do this event again next year!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, as well as to friends and family who were wishing me success from back home.

Silent Auction Paintings

I am excited to announce that two of my paintings will be available via silent auction at an upcoming charity event, benefiting pets in need!

The event is Veterinary Referral Center's 2nd annual Raise The Woof gala. We would love to see you there!

Here are the two original pieces I have donated for this great cause. They each feature a real Central Oregon hiker and their dogs.

The adventures we love to enjoy with our animal companions is what inspired these paintings, and all pets deserve to have access to high quality veterinary care when they need it most. Emergencies happen when we least expect it, and there are many different life circumstances that can make it difficult to be prepared for it. Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon understands this, so they created the Veterinary Care Charitable Fund to help pets in our community. All proceeds from the Raise The Woof gala event go towards this fund.

"Mt. Jefferson Wilderness," oil, 48" x 60", on 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. Painting wraps all the way around the sides.

"Tasting Rainbows in Heaven"

This was commissioned in memory of a beloved family horse who passed away this year. The client told me that her favorite treat was Skittles, and she used to give kisses for them! Now she is tasting rainbows in heaven.

Quetzal

Here is a new commission I recently finished of a bird called a Quetzal. Thank you, Amber, for telling me about these birds! They are so beautiful and unique, and their tails are three times the length of their bodies. I will definitely be drawing more of them, because this one was a lot of fun!

Artist Mamma at work, while babies and dogs are sleeping!

Since becoming a mom, the best time for me to do any artwork is when everyone else is asleep. A travel reading light around my neck means I can draw in the peace and quiet, without disturbing anyone else. One of the best gifts my husband has ever given me! What Artist Mom hacks do you love?

Secret Santa!

I finished my secret Santa gift for a coworker, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. My coworker is kind, caring, and works hard for the needs of her patients. Whether she guesses who here secret Santa is or not; I hope she can cozy up with a cup of coffee and enjoy this tiny little Kansas Sunrise!

Nuthatch on the Lookout

I love these tiny little birds! It has been said that once these guys are spotted in your yard, snow is soon to follow. I always look forward to seeing them, snow and all.
